Oil and Blood
While the statins can be life saving, they should only be temporary in the vast majority of patients. However, with the development of the 3-month pharmacy, the fat-free fallacy, and the increasing sedentary lifestyle of Americans, they have become the norm!
Fat is the best form of energy storage packing in a wholloping 9 calories per gram versus proteins and carbohydrates that are only 4 calories per gram. It is very easy to see how that fat-free mantra developed. However, there has been an outcry of medical researchers disputing the government’s assertion that this is the mandate for the American diet. However, there are too many lobbyists involved in this process. I am going to address this later.
Fat is essential for the cellular membranes (lipid bi-layer), backbone of estrogen, testosterone, cortisol, aldosterone, progesterone, and DHEA. It is also the backbone of the pro-hormone Vitamin D. It is also very receptive to insulin’s pro-fat storage message.
However, it does not mix with blood and therefore it is carried on tiny little particles called lipoproteins. These compounds will carry quite a bit of fat and will also mix well with blood. They are a lot like snowflakes. Some are big and fluffy while others are small and dense. The metabolic effects will depend on which type of lipoprotein you have more of at that given time.
|
LDL |
Carry cholesterol from the liver to the body. Cells will bind to them and extract fat and cholesterol as needed from them. When there is too much, they will “hang out” in the walls of the blood vessels (coronary artery disease). Because of this potential it is often called the bad type of cholesterol. |
|
HDL |
This is the healthy cholesterol. It acts as a scavenger and gobbles up free cholesterol from the blood vessel walls, bloodstream, and from LDL and takes it back to the processing plant, the liver. |
|
Triglycerides |
This is the majority of the fat they we eat. It will travel through the blood stream. It is the main vehicle for transporting fat in your body. You will need a certain level of this because your body always needs fat to repair, rebuild, restore, and replenish! However, too much of this means “take a pill” (Just kidding, it means change your life, use a medication if necessary for the short term but make every effort possible to change it from the core outward. Don’t use a band-aid (medication) to cover-up the problem. It does not go away. In 3 years you will need one or two medications because the problem is significantly worse! |
It is truly a miracle in how our bodies are put together.
Your body’s chemistry depends more on the fats that you eat instead of the cholesterol that you eat. The cholesterol in food does matter to a certain degree but not as much as the types of fat that you eat. Tomorrow, I am going to deal with the problem but also the solution.

Doctor's Supplements
Research proves that we do not have all of the essential minerals and vitamins in our food. In fact, we are no longer eating our "designed" diet. As Hunters and Gatherers, we are now only hunting at the grocery store. We consume tons of garbage a year and expect our bodies to operate just fine. I ask you this question: "What is the difference between food and medicine?' If I gave you a cheeseburger straight out of the bag, you most likely would eat it. However, if I handed you 5 pills, even from me, most likely you would not take them! Food is medicine!
Do you ever experience side effects from medicine? Sure, it is possible. Have you ever thought that maybe the reason you don't feel well is because you don't eat well. Would you expect your car to run great if you put in bad gas? Of course not! Then why, might I ask, do you expect "your engine" to run great? It really is kind of silly, isn't it?
