My name is Janet Comer and I retired from Delphi in April 2005. I've
only had a weight problem the past 5-6 years. I acquired "lots of
weight" when I broke my shoulder 3 years ago in August 2006. I was in a
sling for 7 weeks. I couldn't do anything. All I did was move from
chair to chair--chair to couch--chair to picnic table, etc and "ate out
lots" during this time. I finally decided I was "too fat and
overweight" and not healthy.
I
saw Dr. Haendiges weight loss ad in the newspaper--gave it some though
and called for an appointment. On meeting with Dr. Haendiges and the
consultation; I told the Dr. I felt like a pregnant elephant. I didn't
even weight this much being pregnant with 4 kids. I got tired of
wearing sweat pants all the time and felt like I "never looked neat."
The Dr. showed me a program to follow and I agreed to try it. I felt so
"short of breath" before losing the weight and now I have so much
energy all the time.
I incorporated a walking program after a
couple of weeks into the weight loss program. I started out walking a
mile. After a week I increased to more than a mile. Now I walk 2 1/2
miles every day, sometimes twice a day if I have the time. I sometimes
jog for 30 minutes watching the evening news. In the winter months when
the weather is "too nasty" to walk outside I walk with the "Walk Away
the Pounds" tape every day.
The staff at the Doctor's office was
always very helpful, supportive and encouraged me. Everyone is so
friendly and outgoing there.
I am a very determined and goal
oriented person in whatever I set out to do. I was very determined to
lose the weight. I had set a goal for myself while losing weight.
I
really did enjoy the shakes and energy bars I used with the weight loss

Haendiges' weight loss program to anyone who is serious about losing
weight. I have really learned to watch my serving amounts and intake of
calories after this program. Eating small portions doesn't bother me at
all. We don't need second helpings! I enjoy my walking and I try to
stay moving all the time. I can't sit still for a very long time. I'm
happy wearing "skinny clothes" now. I wasn't happy with myself with all
the extra weight. I also feel that I'm a pretty healthy person now,
more so than before. I do eat out about once a month, but I just eat
smaller portions and forget any second helpings.
Family
Background: I have 4 adult children. 4 adult grandchildren. 3 step
grandchildren - with the 2 youngest being in college. 1 great grandson.
I usually keep him 1 day a week for about 4 hours or so. I enjoy him so
much. I don't get anything done when he is here.
I like to stay
busy and active. I'm involved in several organizations (both Native
American and Military) During the winter months I attend basketball
games.

I have struggled since I can remember with weight issues. First it was 15 to 20lbs, then in college it became 40 pounds…and then after each of three pregnancies I put on 70+ pounds. Eventually I went from slightly overweight to an unhealthy weight of 202 pounds. I had clothing from size 4 to 16 in my closet for every season. I would yo-yo, lose a few and gain back even more.
I had been exercising two to three hours a day for a six week challenge at my gym. My weight stayed the same from the beginning of the challenge to the end. I was more discouraged than ever, and ready to make a big change. Surgery was even in my mind. I just knew I could not live like this anymore. I felt horrible.
My friend had success with Dr. Haendiges, so I decided to give it a try.
I am pretty motivated when I put my mind to it. I just knew if I got the right ingredients, I could succeed. Your staff and your program enabled me to get the start I needed on the right track. As the weight came off, you became my personal cheer section. Each week when I met with Dr. she really encouraged me and helped me feel better about my success.
I have always been happy and lived a healthy life. However having the weight off took a huge load off my mind. I didn’t realize how much time energy and effort I had put on being thin. It was really a consuming fear, and also when I’d eat too much or eat for comfort, I’d realize it, and feel guilty, and start the cycle over and over again.
I have always used exercise. I feel like it’s a part of my everyday life. I went from taking classes at my gym to teaching them.
My husband had an incredible metabolism, he can’t keep weight on. His frame is quite lean so he didn’t ever really grasp why it was so hard over the past 10 years for me to take weight off. Like most thin people who have never struggled, they don’t have a clue. He was skeptical at first, based upon my past diets. You name it I had the equipment or the plan. I’d even been a lifetime member of weight watchers TWICE.
Support came from people at my gym who saw the immediate weight loss after being on the program from Dr. Haendiges and were actually in shock or didn’t recognize me. My spouse was pleased and excited for me. I was even starting to wear my old clothes again…all be it some of them were 10 years old, and not quite the style but I wore them with pride.
I think you could say I have always been an over achiever. I started swimming competitively at age six, then went full force from there into all the usual childhood activities, golf, gymnastics, etc. My diet was great, but I always liked to bake and eat sweats. In fact I still enjoy baking. My appetite usually exceeded my ability to burn the calories. As I aged, this became a challenge. Something about hitting forty made me see that I needed to pull in the reigns, and get my health on track. My youngest was five at the time so I didn’t have the post-baby excuse anymore. I also wanted to feel better about myself.
About six months before I started the program, I was downsized from my position. I was devastated, and found that not having my career was hard. I used that time to work on my health. I had found a new benefit to being healthy, not wealthy. I had to really count my pennies, so if I spent money to lose weight, it’d better work. Our family budget for food went down drastically. When you aren’t obsessed with food you seem to buy less.
Most people asked me if it was expensive. I looked at it like this. If my car broke down, and it cost one thousand dollars to fix it, I’d spend it in a heartbeat. My health, and my body is worth more than any car. I can’t trade in my health for a new one…so I didn’t see any reason to not do it.
My love language is words of affirmation. I liked hearing from family and friends that I was doing a great job, and I felt great. Wearing a size six didn’t hurt either. I started at 192 pounds, and wearing tight size sixteen to wearing a size six, and feeling confident. In the process I became an exercise instructor. I teach about 10 to 12 classes a week, and burn lots o calories…so I am able to eat in moderation, and really keeps me accountable. Just because I am exercising doesn’t give me free reign to eat whatever I want when I want…I’ve found that to be a big lie.
I have had my weight off for OVER A YEAR, and I’m still getting used to it, and still have the same fear of gaining it back. That seems to motivate me the most, my pride…
I enjoyed the food, and the process, it really helps and still helps me stay in line. I am a busy mom, with a family of 3 kids, 3 dogs, 22 chickens and my spouse. I work now part-time in Tipton teaching Zumba, Group Flex, and Kick Boxing about 10 to 12 hours a week. I am on the go a lot so doing the pre-made shakes enables me to eat on the go and feel great. I eat normal food in moderation the rest of the time, and have my days of all chocolate, and just know the math. If I eat more than I burn in a day, then I’ve got extra stored calories that will lead to extra weight. I have to be on my guard. It’s easy to slide back into bad habits. I have learned to see and know my triggers. It’s going to be a life-time struggle but also a life-time opportunity to overcome this challenge, and I feel great.
I’d recommend you try what works for you. Not everyone is like me, and not everyone is able to do the shake only plan. I enjoyed not having to CHOOSE what I was going to eat, but to have it chose for me really worked. It freed me up to spend my time doing what matters, spending time with family and friends, and enjoying life.

All I wanted to do was stay home and watch TV, eat and sleep. My body hurt because I was so over-weight. I was miserable because of constant pain. I knew I needed to lose weight and get healthy. Doctor's Supplements
Research proves that we do not have all of the essential minerals and vitamins in our food. In fact, we are no longer eating our "designed" diet. As Hunters and Gatherers, we are now only hunting at the grocery store. We consume tons of garbage a year and expect our bodies to operate just fine. I ask you this question: "What is the difference between food and medicine?' If I gave you a cheeseburger straight out of the bag, you most likely would eat it. However, if I handed you 5 pills, even from me, most likely you would not take them! Food is medicine!
Do you ever experience side effects from medicine? Sure, it is possible. Have you ever thought that maybe the reason you don't feel well is because you don't eat well.
